Water.
Because of California’s long dry summers, un-predictable winter rains, and with projected population growth – water is a scarce and very precious resource, it keeps our landscape and us alive and it must be conserved. This is why it is so important to adopt conscious irrigation practices and design and install the most efficient water delivery systems.
Creating drought resistant soils through composting and mulching, growing California natives and mediternean plants, reducing the size of and minimizing lawns, designing using hydrozoning, and including space to consider on-site rainwater collection and recycled or graywater are the most effective ways to protect our limited resources.
These steps in conjuction with highly efficient drip and spray irrigation systems that eliminate over spray and run-off, use low-flow emitters and electronic controllers, management practices that irrigate according to plant needs, and regular maintenance visits so every drop counts, we are doing our part to be effective members of our communities.
“It is estimated that overwatering causes 85% of all landscape problems.”
